H.G. Brinda gourav completed her post-graduation from Bangalore University in Environmental Sciences and got fellowship from Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science in 2008.
She has actively been involved with Indian Youth Climate Network (www.iycn.in) from 2008 and currently heads the Karnataka chapter of IYCN. She has worked as project-coordinator for waste sensitive corporate program at Saahas. Currently she works at City Managers Association Karnataka (www.cmakarnataka.com) on Sustainable Energy program for Karnataka and Development of Solar cities of Karnataka .
In 2005, she was part of United Nations Environment Program - Tunza Youth Conference and The Energy Research Institute –“Himalaya and You” program for which her team won the research competition.
In 2006, her team worked on another research paper under the guidance of The Energy Research Institute, and Jyoti Nivas College titled “Sustainable decentralized model of solid waste management in urban India” The same research paper was presented at International Eco city 6 conference and Lake 2006- Indian Institute of Science.
Her focal areas are energy efficiency technology, urban planning, sustainable waste management, water resource management and environmental education.
