Ranjan is Secretary of MASS, Convenor of Water Initiatives Orissa, Convenor of Combat Climate Change Network, Convenor of Orissa River Network, Convenor of Development Media Collective, and a Freelance Journalist

Ranjan is currently also the Member of National Task Force on Citizens Report on Water and Sanitation hosted by Water Aid (UK) and India, and is anchoring the Chapter on Climate Change in this. He also organised ‘National Workshop on Climate Change and Water and Sanitation’ as part of the above task force.

Ranjan just bagged the First Prize in the International Photo Competition on “People and Water” 2006 from the Clean Water Alliance, China. He also received an award of honorarium from the Global Development Network for my paper dealing with women’s initiatives in socio-economic empowerment.

Ranjan is on the Advisory Board of the “Baitarani River Basin Study Group” initiated by SRUSTI, Bhubaneswar and supported by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust

Along with all these, Ranjan is also the Advisor of the United Arab Healthy Water Association, and the World Prout Assembly and contributions to its web site.

Ranjan is Guest Column on invitation to the Journal on Sustainable Development of the Confederation of Indian Industries. (Water Harvesting for Drought Proofing).

He contributed-as a guest author-to the Centre for Legislative Research and Advocacy Policy Notes on Climate Change meant for Parliamentarians, being published by OXFAM. Ranjan is Member of the UNICEF- PII (Press Institute of India) Panel of Writers and Photographers.

He wrote Article, on invitation as an expert, on the role of national and international media in climate change for Green Voices, a quarterly newsletter by CMS Envis (theme : climate change), New Delhi.

NDTV, one of India’s leading news channels recently profiled him as the CLIMATE CRUSADER.
