Vivek Agnihotri is one of the hottest minds in the Indian entertainment industry. Vivek is a communications graduate from Indian Institute of Mass Communication. After studying business at Harvard University, he served with leading advertising agencies such as JWT, O&M and McCann. He followed this by creating his own communications consulting firm, OffBeat, in Delhi (rated as one of the 10 fastest growing agencies by Business Today magazine).
One fine morning, he decided to move to Bombay to make ad films. Since then, Vivek has made several commercials for brands like Vicks, Levelor, Proctor and Gamble, Godrej , Tatas, etc. His social service film on AIDS won him A&M and Ad Club Gold awards.
Vivek started with television by developing the hit Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum for Zee TV. YKAGH, with an ensemble of top stars, set new standards in TV production. This followed with the stylish Saturday Suspense, X-Zone, Rishtey and the mini-series Neha – a one of a kind thriller. He is credited with over two dozen stories ranging from romance to suspense to horror. Vivek has also done packaging for several shows. His latest production "Asambhav' for Zee has won over 40 awards.
In 2005, Vivek moved to full time film-making. His first film Chocolate (Anil Kapoor, Irfaan Khan, Arshad Warsi, Imraan Hashmi, Sunil Shetty) was highly acclaimed and is rated as India's most stylish, cutting edge thriller. Its rated in top 5 city films (London). His second film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Boman Irani, Arshad Warsi) was a huge box-office success and is rated as one of the finest soccer films ever. Vivek is currently working on the adaptation of '12 Angry Men' a world classic with India's 12 best actors (Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Naseerudin Shah, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur etc.). '12 Angry Men' will be followed by an ambitious international production on 'Global Warming' involving kids.
Vivek is a writer, director and editor. His work has a eyes-have-never-seen kind of quality about them. "I love to pamper my work... how you want to see your girlfriend looking best in the entire world... that's how I feel about every frame of my work."
Vivek is a visiting professor at IIMC,Delhi, Walthum University, London. Vivek also teaches screenwriting, Direction and Business of Entertainment regularly at various media institutes. In his free time he writes, paints, and plays with his Pug, Fifa.
